Apple & Peanut Butter Flapjack

These make a perfect snack or desert. The soft freshness of the apple perfectly complements the homemade peanut butter; and the salted caramel toppings adds the luxury we all deserve!

Apple and Peanut Butter Flapjack

Flap Jack

  • 65 g apple sauce
  • 100 g peanut butter (homemade is best)
  • 32 g butter (softened)
  • 300 g whole rolled oats
  • 65 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 130 g chopped & peeled apples


  • 3 tbsp caramel sauce (salted)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 deg F or 180 deg C.

  2. Line a 8×8 baking pan with baking paper.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the Apple sauce, Peanut butter (make your own if you can by following this recipe) and softened butter.

  4. Next, add the oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla bean paste.

  5. Chop the apples into small chunks, and fold them into the mixture.

  6. Pour mixture into the prepared baking tin and bake for 30 minutes.

  7. Spread the caramel sauce over the hot bars and let cool completely before cutting into squares.
