Cedar-Planked Honey and Mustard Salmon
Super flaky, smooth and succulent salmon; with a sweet honey and orange glaze. This is a BBQ delight, even on a cold winter night!
Cedar-planked honey and mustard salmon
- 4 skinless salmon fillets
- 2 cedar planks
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp runny honey
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tsp orange zest
Soak the cedar planks in cold water for an hour prior to cooking.
Set up your BGE for direct cooking to between 300-350 deg F. If using a conventional BBQ, make sure you can cook with the lid down to keep in the moisture.
Mix together the mustard, honey, vinegar and orange zest in a bowl.
Take the planks out and pat dry with kitchen towel.
Place the salmon fillets on the planks and brush liberally with the glaze.
Place the whole thing on the BGE or BBQ and cook for 25-35 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish.
The glaze also works well made with maple syrup instead of the honey if you fancy it.
